Why Linkfolk

A Steady, Unhurried Approach to Family Records

Education First

Every session is framed as an educational and administrative exercise. We help families think through organisation — not interpret documents or give opinions on financial matters.

Respectful Pace

Families move through their records at their own speed. We structure the sessions around your household's schedule, not the other way around.

Practical Outputs

Every session ends with something tangible — a labelling guide, a folder set, a binder, or a handbook — so families leave with a working system rather than just notes.

Family-Centred Sessions

Sessions accommodate different generations and varying levels of comfort with paperwork. The approach is gentle and structured rather than directive.

Discreet Handling

Personal records are treated with care. Notes are kept within the household's own folder kit. We do not retain copies of any family documents.

Based in Kota Kinabalu

Our sessions are run from our Jalan Gaya office and available to families across Kota Kinabalu and the wider Sabah region.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of records do families typically bring to a session?
Most families come with a mix of letters, photographs, household correspondence, and documents they have accumulated over the years. There is no requirement to bring everything — even a single box is a fine starting point for the conversation session.
Are sessions held in English or Bahasa Malaysia?
Sessions are conducted primarily in English. We can accommodate Bahasa Malaysia for clarifications and note-taking. Please let us know your preference when you get in touch and we will plan accordingly.
What is the difference between the Workshop and the Programme?
The Household Records Workshop is a single half-day session in a small-group setting. Participants leave with a draft binder. The Family Records Programme spans several weeks and is tailored to one household, covering inventory, scanning checklists, and a final printed handbook. The Programme suits families with a larger volume of records or who want ongoing support through the process.
Do you give advice on legal documents or financial arrangements?
No. Our sessions are educational and administrative in scope. We focus on how records are labelled, stored, and referenced. We do not offer opinions on legal documents, financial arrangements, estate matters, or the content of specific household papers.
How far in advance should I book?
For the Conversation session, one to two weeks ahead is usually sufficient. Workshop dates are scheduled monthly, so booking two to three weeks ahead is advisable. For the Family Records Programme, we recommend contacting us at least three to four weeks before your preferred start date so we can plan the session sequence around your household.
What happens to our documents after a session?
All documents remain with your household throughout the session and leave with you at the end. We do not keep copies of any family records. Session notes are recorded only in the folder kit that participants take home.
