Three Ways to Bring Your Family's Records into Order
Each programme is designed for a different starting point — from a household that wants an introductory conversation to one ready for a full multi-week reorganisation.
Back to HomeHow Linkfolk Sessions Are Run
Every Linkfolk session follows the same underlying sequence, scaled to the time available and the complexity of the household's records. We begin by taking stock of what is there — not evaluating it, but mapping it. Then we move through categorisation and labelling, building a reference structure the household can continue using independently.
Sessions are educational in character. The facilitator explains the logic behind each labelling decision so that participants understand the structure rather than just following instructions. This matters because the output — a folder kit, a binder, or a handbook — needs to make sense to the household after we leave.
Take stock of what records exist and where they are currently kept.
Sort records into logical groups using a framework suited to the household.
Apply clear, consistent labels that any household member can read and use.
Produce a simple reference document showing what is where and how to find it.
Leave with materials — a guide, folder set, or handbook — that the system lives in.
Family Letter & Records Conversation
A short, focused session helping a household think about how their letters, photographs, and personal records could be organised into a labelled archive. The conversation is informational and organisational — no opinions on legal documents, specific household matters, or financial arrangements. Participants leave with a printed labelling guide and a small folder kit to begin the process.
- Printed labelling guide included
- Small folder kit to take home
- One household, up to 2 hours
- No preparation required beyond gathering records
- Six months of post-session support
Household Records Workshop
A small-group workshop in which families assemble a shared reference showing where personal records and letters are kept. Run as a labelling and reference exercise — not as opinions about specific financial, legal, or household arrangements. Participants work through their records during the session and leave with a working draft binder and a labelled folder set.
- Working draft binder completed in the session
- Labelled folder set to take home
- Small-group format, up to 6 participants
- Half-day session, typically Saturday mornings
- Six months of post-session support
Family Records Programme
A multi-session programme guiding a household through a careful, unhurried reorganisation of records and letters. The programme covers inventory, labelling, scanning checklists, sample meeting agendas, and produces a final printed handbook specific to the household. Paced over several weeks. Strictly educational and administrative in scope — legal and financial matters are outside its remit.
- Household-specific final printed handbook
- Scanning checklist and sample agendas
- Paced over several weeks to suit the household
- Dedicated session coordinator assigned
- Six months of post-programme support

Households that want to understand the process before committing more time, or those with a modest set of records and a straightforward starting point.
Families with a clear body of records who want to work through them in a focused half-day and leave with a binder they can maintain independently.
Households with a significant volume of mixed records — letters, photographs, correspondence — who want a complete, unhurried reorganisation with a final handbook.
